I was lucky enough to attend a Barnes and Noble event in celebration of Seth Rudetsky’s second young adult novel, The Rise and Fall of a Theater Geek. My best friend and I were giddy with excitement; we’ve been Broadway fans for as long as we can remember, and we have some great memories of listening to Seth Rudestky on the Broadway satellite radio channel back in middle school. I even wrote a book report in high school on Rudetsky’s hilarious adult novel, Broadway Nights. Needless to say, I think he is, as he says, “ahmaaaazing.”

(I got an A-plus on my book report, FYI.)

The Rise and Fall of a Theater Geek is a perfectly quirky read for fans of gossip, drama, and the coming-of-age novel. I did not read Rudetsky’s first YA novel, My Awesome/Awful Popularity Plan, which stars the same main character as this new novel…
