It’s been a crazy month (and-a-half, almost) since my last post. BookCon was an absolutely fantastic, exciting, exhausting experience. I wrote about it on BiblioSmiles here. Speaking of BiblioSmiles – I’ve happily allowed my free time to be consumed by editing, writing, social media-ing and the like. This website really feels like my child, and I’m a proud parent. I’ve already scheduled posts through the beginning of August, and I can tell you now – you won’t want to miss a single one!
That being said, I’m always looking for submissions. Writers and readers – take note!
So much has changed in my life recently. I’m officially living in New York City with my best friend, and I couldn’t be happier. Our apartment is really great and it’s starting to feel like home. I can’t believe I’ve “moved out” of my parents’ house. That being said, a majority of my stuff is still there, and both of my bookshelves… but I’m feeling refreshed by the change of scenery. I’m hoping to make it to some readings and book-related events. I’m ready to take advantage of all the NYC literary scene has to offer.
I also accepted an editor position at a publishing company! I’ve only been there three weeks, but I already love it. Having a 9-5 schedule again, after months of working from home, is a challenge I’m willing to accept. I gratefully accept it.
On the writing front: once I get a handle on balancing my day job, my freelance work, BiblioSmiles, and a social life, I’d like to get back on track with my novel. I also recently heard about an acceptance of a piece of my writing on an online magazine, and I can’t wait to share that link with you.
Hope your days are full of good food, good books, and good people!
